Traffic School | Defensive Driving | Driver Improvement
Driver Training Associates, Inc. provides a wide range of traffic safety training, including traffic school, defensive driving, and driver improvement. These terms are all used to describe any course that teaches responsible driving strategies.
When choosing a defensive driving course, the main things you should be aware of are that the course you choose is approved by the DMV (or other state regulatory agency) and that it is the correct number of hours (usually 4, 8, 6, or 12, depending on the state / court).
Four popular courses that we offer online are Texas defensive driving, Florida traffic school, California traffic school, and Virginia driver improvement. The New York accident prevention course is currently offered only in the classroom by New York classroom traffic schools, but we will soon be releasing an online version of the course (IPIRP) on this website.

Driver Education | Learners Permit Courses
Driver education (or "drivers ed") courses are required in many states to teach young drivers safe driving techniques and strategies that they can use throughout the rest of their lives. California driver ed, Texas driver ed, and Georgia driver ed are three very popular courses offered by DTA. The State of Florida requires that all first time drivers complete a learners permit course before they can be given their first Florida driver license.
Mature Driver Courses
Drivers who are 55 or over can qualify for an auto insurance discount in most states by taking a mature driver course. We offer this course in Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Maine, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Utah, and Washington.
Driver License Practice Tests
Worried about passing your first driver license test? Then take our convenient online driver license prep test with either 50 or 100 questions (unlimited attempts). This is a great way to prepare for your California, Florida, Texas, or Virginia driver license test. Motorcyle prep, CDL, and the standard test are available for all 50 states.
Other Traffic Safety Programs
DTA is leading the way with new products in the traffic safety industry. Our newest course is the Texas Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program. This course is most commonly taken for various types of drug / alcohol / traffic related offenses by order of a Texas court or judge. If you have been ordered to attend an alcohol awareness or minor in possession class, the DADAP course is an excellent alternative to sitting in a classroom. Check with the court to find out if you are eligible to attend the online DADAP course.
